Thanks DanBetaMan for the finds. We need some kind of high speed storage interface (SATAIII, M.2, etc.). The Renegade doesn't seem to offer that.

all errors fixed, two warnings remaining that can safely be ignored.

SDI development is essential finished and working, we should chat about the details for CCC soon, ping me on IRC please.

@allan do you have a hdmi recorder like an Atomos Shogun you could borrow us for the camera demo rig at the CCC?

Those are valid points indeed.
BOMs are linked to in the wiki for each individual PCB

fine for me as well
merge in or move to subtask?
I think so.

I think the following needs a bit of context:
would you like to design the battery exclusively for the axiom beta (box shaped) enclosure or also to fit on the bigger (and more power hungry) ergonomic enclosure version as well?
do you think it make sense to combine it?
done
This is the current push URL of the github webhook:
Wow, that's great progress you made here!

What software do you use at Axiom to design the PCBs?

For the rubber cover, we will work on 3d print plate that we can try to clip. Maybe an another solution in flexible plastic, not the more durable solution but very cheap to print !

I made this and a few other pholios public (apparently the default setting was "visible: all users" but that meant only people with phabricator account can see it - now everyone can).

Could you add another one on the lefthand side, on the bottom of the camera? If one was added right underneath the top one, you could mount a NATO rail there and easily mount a couple accessories.

Emulating Canon DSLR branding not so good.
Brand-new renders!

We are investigating the 90° Sensor rotation option - from what we know so far it will be a technically rather challenging effort and will likely require more PCB layers than OSHPark can manufacture. Details will follow.

Great! We will make sure you have everything you need.
Found some by searching for "cold shoe" instead of "hot shoe":

Thanks for all the feedback! Its great to see you guys involved!
Due to space constraints and not being able to find any off-the-shelf hotshoe components (https://lab.apertus.org/T794) there is no hotshoe mount on the Beta anymore.
We would like to experiment with DIY carbon fiber casting, the process is highly manual and requires a cast negative first (which could be CNC milled or maybe even 3d printed). If someone is interested in pursuing these tests we should have a chat.
We cannot mill magnesium in our CNC as it is highly flammable. So its not just the cost of the material but having production outsourced entirely. Combine that with low volume manufacturing and you will find prices to be totally astronomically I am afraid... :)

Did you think it possible to add a "weatherproof membrane" at the top of the fan.
The problem is that the Zynq overheats before anything else in the camera even gets warm if there is no airflow or circulation.
I see, not convinced though I must admit...
The fan needs to be running and have free airflow at all times.
Would it be possible to add a lenscap as a cover for the fan?
I was about to ask if the rear plate is empty, because i'm designing the battery for the camera and mounting it in the rear plate will counterweight the lens when hand held and on a tripod.

+1 from me for moving the entire logic, DC/DC conversion and measurement electronics into a separate module and the cells with minimal protection-only circuit to another separate module.

Does it need a 'PIC' to have status LED's directly on the battery?

Those looks quite OK, but they are huge!
Aug 23 2017
maybe my original requirements were not 100% clear:
not huge
not ugly
not glue-on
:)
Those are all glue-on.

It seems to be pretty standard to use PU foam as air filter.
opted for a rather simple design that can be lasercut from a sheet of steel or aluminum.

We should probably weigh all individual parts of the enclosure, as they come out. Why not eh.
