Keep in mind that lithium-ion cells need electronics around it to manage charging/discharging, etc. and cannot be just inserted like AA Alkaline batteries. Developing our own battery pack has several obstacles and disadvantages, the electronics development itself wouldn't be that big of a deal I guess but just think of the safety regulations and certifications we would have to deal with for no real advantage over existing solutions....

Again lets not overthink this simple image, we can swap it out anytime later.
The atomos power station looks rather interesting actually: Dual 5 VDC USB power outputs should be perfect for the beta.

More flexibility is of course always preferred but I had the impression we are building a camera integrated battery mount here. Such solutions to externally attach batteries to rods in several places in the rig and for several battery mount types already exist from several manufacturers no?
Jul 4 2017
My concern for putting the batteries under the camera body are that it might get in the way of attaching rods at the correct distances below the lens center: https://wiki.apertus.org/index.php/Rods
@pgsamila was so kind and adapt the axiom_beta_build_image_Ubuntu.sh script to use kernel version 4.6 as there are known issues with 4.9 (latest).
Jul 1 2017
Hello! How can I help?
Try running the axiom_beta_build_image_Ubuntu.sh from https://github.com/apertus-open-source-cinema/axiom-beta-qemu in an Ubuntu OS and report the results. The last commented out line in that script starts the created image in qemu.

Max will pick up a dev kit to snap those pictures on monday.
If you want to give him a briefing on what perspectives, background and lighting, etc. you want for these now is a perfect time :)

Should we include a short sentence underneath the dimensions explaining to the onlooker what they're looking at, or where it'll be used on the camera, that sort of thing (and for these sentences to be arranged prior to the design process) ?
Good idea!
The current beta hardware requires precise 5V inputs, around 2-3A typically, 4A max. peaks.

@MichaelH: How much time does it currently take you to create one full image with all labels like this?
perfect, I can't think of anything to improve anymore.

While we are at it with the labels and such should we also add the website apertus.org and that its for the AXIOM Beta?
Good idea with the label!

Please take a look at the concepts here https://wiki.apertus.org/index.php/Wifi_Remote
Was at the post office today already. Package is on its way!

fixed with latest from https://lab.apertus.org/T737 ?

How many should I send?

In T790#11745, @RexOr wrote:Edit - There are no margins here but the lines in this post have 50 words and that's nice.
This word rule is not a standard or trend or design choice.
It's the result of research that evaluates how we humans with our eyes and brains are most effective at reading - meaning we do not loose track of where we are in the sentence and need the least amount of concentration while reading.

the "freeze" would basically mean we set the forum read-only for now and in the future we can at any time decide to revive it.

For me the message to the viewer of this image should be twofold:
filehost complains about disabling adblock...
can you upload the files here directly?
The problem currently is that we are collecting spam in the forums and have to manually clean up after it constantly - that spam might get us blacklisted in search engines...
So should we freeze the forums until phabricator is updated?

raising to high priority because this is the main blocking task for the entire firmware not getting developed any further
