A common origin could be a good idea in some cases but in Austria we say: "Du kommst in Teufels Küche" ("you get into devils kitchen.." :-)) if you change any part like the hight of a connector or a socket. You have to change this distance in every part in the whole chain. This is not a way to go. There have to be some defined interconnection points on every part but no dependency to any common origin!

personally i dont like versions of things having names of people or words that describe something else or anything like that.
actually it gets to my nerves. and they are everywhere!
and while i never remember names and words (my brain cannot make the connection of my installed android version with some kind of sugar candy) it is easy for me to know that version or revision 5 is newer than version 4.
but if version words are available people seem to pay more attention and remember them rather than version numbers.

I see that the fan is resting on the sensor (probably also on the coming heatsink, around it, and on the pcbs. Could we imagine fixing it from below with a counterbore screw if we find a fan with such holes? the threads could extend to accommodate a cap or a "grill" (or a rosette arri like some people asked for, anything is possible). It can work with a stratification system like in this gamma concept.

ducted fan actually have better performance for airflow and noise reduction. To get better result concerning noise We could connect the fan to the case through a neoprene surface (which is also weatherproof and breathable).
here is a link for a silent dust immune heat sink fan. the cooling effect is radial though, and not perpendicular to the fan.

Yes, bending could be a bit trickier. But if we have the right machine, i could also be not so tricky. Since the main goal was the ergonomics, and it might be too small, we can leave it out. I took my canon 600D as a ref for the handle, since it has a nice grip. Im still a bit curious as of how it feels, i might print just the handle part of it.

I'm working in vfx industry and i'm waiting this feature with great excitation, i hope this will be used by the blender tracker as basis for 3d tracking (optical could be just used for tracking enhancement) because optical tracking alone doesn't work any time (during fast motion for example). This could be used to automatically detect element that move in the shot and separate them from the camera motion.
May be realtime optical camera tracking could be done by moving optical search zone of tracking points at his estimated position based on IMU measurement???
