Hello! I am a designer and an architect. From a chair, to high tech glass facades, to machine vision, to responsive art installations, to autonomous cities, I have a very wide vision on the practice and I'm constantly experimenting.
I have always been fascinated with films. The axiom would be the perfect instrument for my personal project.

My ultimate interest is to make it fly in order to film the city.

I am in Vienna. If anyone wants to meet to talk about the Axiom project, lets grab a coffee!

@Oscar : interesting.
I agree with @daFred concerning the serial number being short and "straight".
This task is there to try and cover the naming conventions from a collaborative and machine readable standpoint task).
Feel free to add to it, if you are using github.

I see that the fan is resting on the sensor (probably also on the coming heatsink, around it, and on the pcbs. Could we imagine fixing it from below with a counterbore screw if we find a fan with such holes? the threads could extend to accommodate a cap or a "grill" (or a rosette arri like some people asked for, anything is possible). It can work with a stratification system like in this gamma concept.

Yes, this was just a random piece of information, in case we could improve the fan design to be dust immune.
What about a square neoprene stripe along the current fan edges, below the aluminium case, in order to diminish noise and vibrations? just a suggestion

Movies title don't credit an individual but a project, and they are spread in popular culture, we just need to check if there are legal issues for some.
So far, in the category one word, short classics titles:

I also think we should not refer to one gender, even if the names can be pretty. lets go for latin digits and films or/and directors or/and actresses and actors... that way it give us flexibility, while staying in one topic that make sense for apertus : open source cinema.

ducted fan actually have better performance for airflow and noise reduction. To get better result concerning noise We could connect the fan to the case through a neoprene surface (which is also weatherproof and breathable).
here is a link for a silent dust immune heat sink fan. the cooling effect is radial though, and not perpendicular to the fan.

Welcome back Sebastian!
here is a new minimal case in progress with 2mm sheets for the sides and around 4mm for the top and bottom plate.
And no "caps" over the fan yet. the top plate allows to screw the fan from the bottom, if we mill a pocket to place it inside from below.

maybe we can think of some kind of ducted turbine on top of the fan to accelerate airflow, like on a plane... just an idea.

I believe it is a pending issue. From what I understand there is a fan on top, and some holes at the bottom, in order to create airflow.

Yes, bending could be a bit trickier. But if we have the right machine, i could also be not so tricky. Since the main goal was the ergonomics, and it might be too small, we can leave it out. I took my canon 600D as a ref for the handle, since it has a nice grip. Im still a bit curious as of how it feels, i might print just the handle part of it.

Thanks Benoit, lets give it a shot, no? Thats the beauty of this project, it is geared toward openness. Now it might be challenging, I agree...
Herbert mentioned that there was already a bunch of folks working on this (in theory), so there is hope!
lets try to gather informations and links on this thread.
ABS seems to be a good choice due to its lightness and robustness. Or do we need an aluminium case to protect expensive components? It would be funny to do a crash test simulation, and also potentially saving some costs : )

FrancoisGandon added a comment to T188: reevaluate the blog/articles system on apertus.org.

Some articles are really helpful, some not, in my opinion.
Lets say that the less it directly relates to the Apertus project, the most unnecessary it becomes. Lets see all articles as tools, for example the blender workflow article is usefull for all of us using blender, and the general information about video creatives or independant films, although really nice articles, are not so crucial.
