I haven't forgotten this, but i really had no time.
Now i'm working on it!
WIP:
(that is the start page with menues and content, social media links are missing)
The apertus°-Project has 2 sides:
The website should reflect that.
Main Menu
apertus° News Products Development About [ ]
terminology:
maybe buy apertus.com for the company website and sell ready to use products there?
Agreed - the absolute cleanest (not the best solution IMHO though) would be to have two websites: apertus.org for the community side, axiom-camera.com for the commercial side. In reality I think doing this would confuse the hell out of everyone as there is so much overlap everywhere that its impossible to separate the two without sending people in circles.
that would be one option. the domain would be good for SEO rank. but i think you are right. in the near future customers of a camera will still need informations from the community pages.
another option would be my latest structure outline. same domain but different pages. still same content as with 2 domains:
apertus.org/products/axiom-beta-camera (Shop with description of finished product and pictures, one video)
apertus.org/development/axiom-beta-camera (all technical details and development status)
That is still very redundant but i think we can't put it on one page. even if we could integrate the shop into the CMS page it might be a legal issue if we write "4K recording" and the buyable product don't offer that yet..
So we must differentiate between the current state of the buyable product and the possibilities we might have in the future.
Maybe there is another option?
The URL structure is quite good!
https://www.apertus.org/axiom-beta
https://www.apertus.org/contact
https://www.apertus.org/donate
We should retain them. Some could be improved.
https://www.apertus.org/views/beta-news (views is a technical thing of the CMS no visitor needs)
https://www.apertus.org/axiom-team-talk-volume-11-article-november-2016 (/news/... would be good)
I personally like it to just have one domain. It's also better for SEO since search engines treat subdomains as different sites. Also the www Subdomain is a thing from the 90s :P
https://wiki.apertus.org/index.php/Main_Page
https://lab.apertus.org/
https://shop.apertus.org/
I would like:
https://apertus.org/donate
https://apertus.org/wiki
https://apertus.org/lab
It is very important to not break links! So old URLs should get redirected with HTTP CODE 301 if we change them.
A sitemap would be helpful for that.
