mediawiki bootstrap skin?
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Lets face it, mediawikis interface and visual representation especially with its full width content looks dated and is not pleasant to read on todays monitors.

What are the alternatives, what are the improvements there?

Is Docuwiki a proper alternative?

+1 for dokuwiki

maybe wikiwand is also an option, but it seems a bit overcomplicated...

Well, personally I prefer a full width adaptive layout anytime over a fixed width layout.

But it is not so much the wiki and styles or themes, but more the content and its structure which is important.
Doesn't help much if it looks beautifully, but you can't find anything relevant there.

Best,
Herbert

wikiwand just is a new frontend for wikipedia no?

consulting http://www.wikimatrix.org/compare/DokuWiki+MediaWiki some Questions:
Do you really want to switch from Database- to Text storage?

some sort of semantic extention seems to be available for both wikis...

Looks quite nice, will keep it unless we find any issues, bugs.
