Description

This is a feature specifically designed for the viewfinder preview video output and shows the area around what is being recorded.

On the CMV12000 we use a 2x1920 = 3840 which leaves 4096 - 3840 = 128 x 2 area to show around the recorded area and even more above/below as we use a 16:9 window in the 4:3 sensor.

Personally I think I'd find odd colours around the image distracting. Having the area outside black and white and/or partially shaded would be better for me.

Or just having good solid frame lines.

Yep. For the camera operator, I agree. Strong frame lines and a dimmed image beyond would be my preference.

But a contrast stretched or false colour preview might be helpful for other folk like boom mic operators. This could be assigned to the 3rd HDMI out, leaving the second HDMI with more regular frame lines for cam operator and the first as clean out.
