ESD/Grounding protection for connectors

Description

On the Zedboard the HDMI connector is not ESD protected which causes it to reboot every time a HDMI connector is plugged in.

It would be great if we can change that on the Beta and add ESD protection to all connectors.

Well, actually the ZedBoard has proper ESD protection on the HDMI port (D12,D13, and D14).

But of course we will have proper ESD protection on all relevant connectors as well on the Beta.

Was the problem the lacking grounding of the HDMI connector metal then or why did the Alpha reboot when a cable was plugged in?

I presume differences in the two potentials (i.e. insufficient grounding).
