Description

i miss a non task based forum here where i simply can put questions or a simply central information page where i see the structure of all the platforms we use, a map where beginners can find where everything is..

please bring this post to its decent place!

where do i find my 'flag for later' marked articles?
you see that flag symbol when you are in an task page, but where do that information go to?

thanks

A central "map" of all our community channels and platforms is a great idea!

In phabricator, you can subscribe to the tasks you want to follow, or subscribe to projects. In the later case, you are automatically subscribed to every new task. A great way to fill your inbox :-)

You get an email for everything (you can limit it though) so, I personally use my email client to manage my read later list.

I don't understand Phabricator perfectly either. We can make a "central map", but I don't think that is what Christoph wanted :D

So what are our community channels?

  • Phabricator
  • Mailing Lists
  • IRC
  • Wiki
  • general Contact from the website?

@christophvarga
Sebastian just showed me https://lab.apertus.org/ponder/
-> Q&A based messaging. Maybe not the thing you were looking for, but also not the worst alternative to a forum.

to add another interesting tool:
https://taiga.io/ demovideo

(i would like to choose a 'no notification'- option for a post like this ;) )

Can we do something about it? E.g. personal settings for each project to manage how offen and intense it will inform you about changes?

As i See it now, the projects overview page could be in the center and there for the lab landing page. One project, the first in list needs to be a guide.
The project page itself would become Mord useful if we can add other elements than tasks to the kanban-workboards or different Kind if boards which are more social valuable (calendar, picture, chat, activity, wiki, file storage, log book,...) like trello does.

I already mentioned wiki... We need to kill our seperate wiki. Wiki and lab needs to merge together!
