Ultimately screen space reflections for the CAD object would be cool (https://threejs.org/examples/webgl_postprocessing_ssr.html) so the metal reflects the gridpad and wood table.

Alternatively a well designed cubemap as reflection map (incorporating the gridpad & wood table) might be much simpler and less resource intensive and also look quite OK, needs testing.
