How do we power the camera (and all the accessories)?
- Proposal 1:
Sony NP-F battery form factor (the most common smaller DV video batteries)
As far as i know these batteries have no low voltage cut off protection? (can anyone confirm that? )
So what we need to make ist an mounting plate [[ http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:629893 | (a similar thing found here) ]] and some electronics inside to adjust the voltage and providing a fill level and low voltage protection. Also it would be great to have a small secondary battery/? inside to provide power for some seconds while changing the main battery for continuos power support. and maybe it is a good idea to have two battery docks.
+ easy integration in existing environments
'- proprietary, single failed cells can break the whole battery
- Proposal 2:
Inventing a new system around single AA Cells. Like a container [[ https://www.zoom-na.com/products/product-accessories/zoom-bcf-8-battery-case-f4-and-f8-multitrack-field-recorders | Zoom ]] is using.
But maybe it is necessary to charge them individually, and that should be done without taking them out of the box. So we need a special charger.
[[ http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:456900 | Some inspiration found here ]]
+ this is the most environment friendly option because cells can break down individually and we can sort them out seperatly
'- more effort to realize, especially the charger
- Proposal 3:
Use existing solutions
+no work
'- depending on the batteries there might be no low voltage protection
